Columbus City Schools. We can do better!

As a current member of the Columbus Board of Education, I am proud to serve and work on behalf of all of the more than 52,000 children who attend Columbus City Schools.

On May 2, 2017, when you cast your vote in support of me you provide me with the opportunity to move to the November election.  This opportunity to retain my seat on the Columbus Board of  Education, will empower me to continue advocating for the educational future of all students, regardless of background, ethnicity or socioeconomic level.  I am aware that issues don’t lay on where you’re from but in not developing the skills needed to compete. I will be laser focused in support of the district’s hiring of highly qualified certified staff that are working directly with our students in the classroom, address future/ongoing maintenance, and wisely allocate permanent improvement dollars to our buildings. As a member of the board, I will continue to work to be good rather than to work to look good.

I want to continue to be a part of the Columbus Board of Education and:
  • Support a focus on programs that are measured by student impact, measurable effectiveness, and scalability.
  • Support parent involvement; so that parents can collaborate with our teachers in doing all they can to fully engage our student on the path to success.
  • Support improved operations from the top; the District has transformed its operations, mitigated the mistakes of the past, and rebuilt the integrity of information systems.
  • Support financial leadership which is committed to great accountability, long term sustainability, and unprecedented transparency.
  • Support a continued focus on safety of our students and staff by expanding engagement with the community groups, non-profits, faith leaders, business and neighborhood organizations.  Support expanded partnerships with organizations and individuals that are embedded in our communities in advocating to expand safe zones within our buildings, beyond school walls and outside of the school day.

When you pull the lever on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 for Columbus School Board, remember to vote for Ramona R. Reyes. Thank you in advance for your vote and for your support of my candidacy.
Yes – ReYes can and will serve the Columbus community in the best interest of the children!
